If you want to find anything valuable effectively, I strongly recommend you to use Google.
Google thinks that once users find what they need through Google, they can continue to do what they should do next, so through Google, page ranks are scientific and accurate.

But what about Baidu? What a nasty thing if you use Baidu to look for information! They will never be tired of forcing you to move around inside Baidu, because you can hardly find what you need.

A lot of pages online has their own Page Rank in Google. That reflect the importance of the web page. The criteria include number of visitors per day, whether the content is useful, and whether the content is closely related to the a certain keyword. The Page Rank partly decides the rank of the page in the search result.
